Tiny Tots Storytime
Thursday mornings are for tiny tot book lovers. Bring you wee ones to Big Hill Books for Storytime with our talented Friends of Big Hill Books volunteer readers. It’s never too early to introduce children to books. Local children’s author Melanie Heuiser Hill and other volunteers lead our Tiny Tots Thursday Storytime program.
First Friday Date Night
Big Hill Books is open 7–9 p.m. for you and your special someone to drop by for date night. Consider it a casual, low-key night out for the two of you after a nice dinner or matinee. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find your next great reads together.
JOIN US: Big Hill Books Book Club
Looking for a new book club? Big Hill Books will launch its first book club Jan. 10, 7-9 p.m., with the 2024 bestseller, The Frozen River, by Ariel Lawhon. It's a historical mystery inspired by the real life of Martha Ballard, a renowned 18th century midwife.
Early Readers' Storytime
Bring your early readers of all ages and their friends for some fun, live readings, and activities. Our talented Friends of Big Hill Books will choose selected titles every child will love. This weekly event is a chance for kids to learn to love reading and books.
Open Mic Night
Join us the third Saturday of every month for Open Mic Night. Big Hill Books will provide the stage, the spotlight, two mics and a speaker. You provide the music, comedy, magic, storytelling, poetry and singing. RSVPs encouraged but not required. If you’re game, then so are we. See you there!
Sticky Notes with Matt Eicheldinger
Join published author, local teacher and TikTok phenom Matt Eicheldinger when he presents his latest book, “Sticky Notes: Memorable Lessons from Ordinary Moments.” This is a cover-to-cover compilation of 100 true, uplifting short stories that capture the meaning behind everyday encounters, and the small lessons woven in-between.
